The BRICS nations make up 42% of the world’s population and contribute more than 30% to global GDP with economists predicting that very soon the BRICS Nations will surpass the G7 with their collective contribution to GDP. Mabuza stresses that the African Continental Free trade Area (AfCFTA) is an opportunity to reset the Africa’s relationship with the BRICS nations and invite them to invest in continental value chains.
