The BRICS nations make up 42% of the world’s population and contribute more than 30% to global GDP

Ghanaian media powerhouse Anita Erskine recently spoke to Busi Mabuza Chair of the South African BRICS Business Council on the sidelines of the Afreximbank Annual Meetings in Accra, Ghana. The BRICS nations make up 42% of the world’s population and contribute more than 30% to global GDP with economists predicting that very soon the BRICS Nations will surpass the G7 with their collective contribution to GDP. Mabuza stresses that the African Continental Free trade Area (AfCFTA) is an opportunity to reset the Africa’s relationship with the BRICS nations and invite them to invest in continental value chains.
